If you are the daring kind, who doesn't let application crashes stop you from enjoying a good time with a mod under development, a Vanity Pack 2.0.0 beta is now available for you to enjoy.
Update March 29, 2014: Vanity Pack 2.0.0 Beta 10 has been released. It contains a slew of fixes, updates and new features, such as speedometer, tachometer and odometer, manual gearbox, bikes in car rooms, windowed mode and wheel selector. Beta 9 will be made obsolete in the near future.
NOTE: This new version works fine for most players but there have been a few reports of increased instability since beta 6. Most noteworthy: There are crashes during online races in certain situations. The root cause has been not yet been identified.

To install, it is recommended to install in the existing folder of Vanity Pack 2.0.0 beta 9 or later, unless this is a first time install. The VanityPack.ini file, if present, will be upgraded when you start Vanity Pack.
If Vanity Pack doesn't even start up, make sure the paths to Vanity Pack and to the savegame contains no special characters like å or ü or Greek or Russian characters.
If you encounter other issues, please check the README and FAQ files first for a possible solution. If the issue persists, please check the Burnout Hints forums for possible answers.
Work will proceed for beta 11 next.
Enjoy! | |

Thank you Frog. I'm sure lots of people willl enjoy this. I'll wait until beta testing is over and the "official" version is released, but many people will choose the beta. To those people, be warned that the crashes will get very tiring very fast. Trust me; I've got experience.

It doesn't crash too often believe it or not. I got myself a fresh install of Burnout Paradise when I installed it, so I can't speak for everybody.

Funny, you told me you weren't a tester. But you can't trust me, of course. At least tell us how often it does crash. Hopefully not every 20 minutes like the one sermix had.

I'm only experiencing crashes when closing the game. Also, the water turns into a blank void sometimes. I don't know when that happens exactly, so would need to look into that a bit.

Well, 15-40 minutes isn't so bad compared to what my laptop does... or did. Even more problems have come up around it when I played today. Crashing every time I open xFire, or when I select a mod car from RV 1.4. Back on topic: I'll PM Frog to get the beta. I know I said I wouldn't, but 40 minutes is a good amount of time to me. Thanks for the help DarkRain.

Smilingfrog reccomended we make a CLEAN install of Burnout Paradise, by doing so I've crashed little to none besides a couple of little things here and there.
